Olivia Rixon is a hardworking, motivated and organised third year BA (Hons) Fashion student at The Edinburgh College of Art. Completed several fashion internships in journalism, supply and studio assistant, with additional flagship retailing experience providing her with a well rounded skill set.

Experience working backstage at desginer fashion shows and photoshoots. Ability to thrive in fast paced environments and follow instructions with a consistent attention to detail. Olivia is an ambitious individual who is fully committed to the task at hand. Looking to expand her experience and knowledge of the fashion industry before graduating in 2026.

Fashion Journalism Intern – The Telegraph

September 2024

Work experience in the Fashion deparment at The Telegraph working on articles published in The Sunday Telegraph Magazine. Completed research and collected imagery for articles online and on social media. Proud to have had two columns published in The Telegraph Magazine – Men’s Core Jackets (5th October 2024) and Ladies Tailored Coats (12th October 2024).

Graduate Collection Studio Internships – Lauren Hyde and Olivia Shearon

April – June 2023, April – June 2024

Two years of fourth year internships with Lauren Hyde, specialising in tailoring and with Olivia Shearon, creating a sportwear inspired knitwear collection. Developed technical pattern cutting skills and assisted at photoshoots. Provided me with clear insights and expectations for my graduate collection.

Fashion Intern – ACC

May – August 2023

Four month internship at ACC, a high street fashion supplier for brands including; Urban Outfitters, The White Company and Whistles. Roles included communicating with buyers, creating sample cards and meetings with the manufacturing team in India. Internship extended as I proved to be a valuable member of the ACC Team.

Dresser at Dior Cruise 2025 Show – Drummond Castle

June 2024

Dresser at the Dior Cruise 2025 Show, supporting two models and looking after outfits for the collection. Care taken with delicate garments and accessories.

Style Advisor – Mint Velvet, Edinburgh

September 2023 – Present

Style Advisor at one of Mint Velvet’s flagship and top performing stores. A role with a key focus on customer service and one to one styling. Often a fast paced environment requiring adaptability, teamwork and multi-tasking skills.

The University of Edinburgh – BA (Hons) Fashion

2022-2026

Hardworking, innovative fashion design student with a keen interest in tailoring and creative pattern cutting. Averaging a first with electives taken in Textiles and Environmental Design.

Finalist in With Love Halston and Lochcarron of Scotland outerwear competition.

Proud to have my designs featured in the Edinburgh College of Art Graduate Fashion Show 2024 and at Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show 2025.
